Why we're building TrustSlot

Lots of indie sites now sell sponsor spots: directories, launch platforms, tool lists, side projects with a few thousand visitors a month. You see the posts on X every week: "3 sponsor spots open, $29/month, DM me."

What selling a spot looks like today

Most sites build it themselves. A button, a Stripe link, sometimes an email address. Then the owner has to agree on dates, collect a logo and a link, put the ad on the page, and remember to take it down when the month is over.

The advertiser has a different problem. The only proof of traffic is usually a screenshot or a number in a tweet.

What we're building

TrustSlot is one script tag. You mark the spots on your own page and set a price. Advertisers see verified traffic, pick a spot right on your site and pay you through your own Stripe account. The ad goes live after payment and expires on its own. During launch we take no fee.

What we don't know yet

Whether site owners want one more tool instead of a Stripe link, and whether verified numbers help them sell more spots. That's what the first version is for. If you sell ad spots on your site, we'd like to hear how you do it today.
